Squirrels At Work

You will probably have to enlarge this pic to see that there are actually 6 black squirrels in this rather small tree beside Casa Loma, all of them totally intent on eating whatever kind of seeds those are on the tree. I couldn't resist a pic and as I stood there a lone grey squirrel was rushing over to get some food before everything was gone!

I see them there Pat, gosh they haven't left much there. If only they knew they were the subject of your 1001 blog post, somehow I think they would have just gone on munching haha!

Great shot, Pat. I'd have thought all the squirrels in Toronto would be hibernating by now, but they seem to be hard at work.

That's cool!

They don't hang around do they?! Probably polished off all the food in no time at all!

That stone building caught my eye. And I've long ago concluded that squirrels were nuts even when they were eating seeds. These things look well fed with big, fluffy tails. Our squirrels are real scrawny with scraggly tails. Perhaps Florida is where they release squirrels from the hospital? You know, the Nuthouse!

Those seeds must be delicious!

It's been years since I was last at Casa Loma. I should go the next time I pass through the city.

Squirrels are fun, up to the point when they're staying the winter in the walls of your house.

This has bee an exceptional breeding year for squirrels.

They certainly are busy storing up that energy for the winter.

I love squirrels!

BLack squirrels, that's different. We have red (native) and grey (incomers that are pushing out the reds).

I love squirrels! We seem to have adopted two who come to our place for breakfast every morning. The little one will come inside if the door is open!
