Deco Delight

I love finding wonderful little deco buildings like this one that were built for some small business but care was still taken to include nice details like the curved corners and the glass blocks. This one is in particularly good shape after being well-maintained and has that muted grey design painted all along its side wall as well as the front. I could find no info on it as to date of construction etc.

It does appear to be in very good shape. I always worry about the weight of snow collapsing flat roofs.

Beautiful!

I love this! It's a style that I have admired since I was a kid. There were at least two buildings in my home town in Illinois that were of a very similar style.

Nice building and a great find. Understated yet purposeful, lovely!

Yes you're right it's in very good condition for what probably is an older building. Real neat to see a building like this one.=)

I wonder when that was built. Sometime in the 60s? It does look in very good shape so maybe it's been renovated. I wonder what is housed there.

I like it too! I recently did an Art Deco walking tour downtown. I'll have to start putting up some of my shots. It was so interesting to get the history on buildings I've walked by so many times. :)

I'm a big fan of glass block windows. That porthole over the door is pretty nifty too. So 1930s.

All that's missing is a nice piece of neon.

Looks like it belongs somewhere along Collins Avenue, South Beach!
Great looking building.

It looks like a restaurant from the 1950's.

Deco is a favourite of mine also Pat, we have a fair bit in certain areas here in Perth too. Love the curved corners on this building , no harks lines.
